Recycling

19th May 2022Jodie Wilkinson

We recycled the milk cartons to make watering cans to water our plants in the garden.

The children in Blue group had lots of fun watering the plants. When the watering cans were empty,

some of the children refilled them using the water from the water tray using the jugs and bottles.

We wonder could you make something at home using recycled materials?

Banana Muffins

17th May 2022Jodie Wilkinson

Baking Banana muffins

We had some over ripe bananas in Blue group so we decided to make some banana muffins.

The children all chose a job to do:  peeling the bananas, mashing them, mixing the ingredients together, putting  the cake cases into the muffin tin, then sharing the mixture into the cases.

While they were cooking, the children could smell them. They smelled delicious!

Maybe you could try making these at home. We’d love to hear all about the things you cook at home!

*We swapped the eggs for an egg substitute.

The Three Little Pigs

16th May 2022Jodie Wilkinson

The children have enjoyed reading The three Little Pigs.

Following interest from the story we have had a busy week outside. We have built houses out of boxes, used a clothes drier and packaging from a box to create a house. The children made a fire from a box to cook the food.

The children have also enjoyed playing with the babies, they dressed them and took them for walks.

Exploring the Water Wall

11th May 2022Jodie Wilkinson

We were so excited on Monday…. Our water wall, which we have been waiting for was delivered to nursery.

The children put on their wetsuits and wellies and had so much fun exploring all of the pipes, funnels and water wheels.

Exploring the flow of the water and jumping in the puddles was very popular!

This led to lots of imaginative play in the mud kitchen with the children transporting the water to make mud,’ cups of tea’ and lots of delicious food for ‘dinner’.
