The children have enjoyed recreating characters from the Julia Donaldson stories, Super Worm The Highway Rat and The Selfish Crocodile.
They used clay and natural resources from outside to make the features. Inside, we have made cakes with the play dough and the children invited their friends to tea.
The Children have also enjoyed accessing the reading area, using the puppets and sharing stories.
We have been learning the names and sounds linked to Farm animals in nursery through lots of activities.
We have been sing Old MacDonald had a farm, ‘Shearing the sheep’, playing with the farm animals in the ‘Mud’, reading one of our favourite stories Oh Dear, printing the markings on the cows, playing with the small world farm and puppets. We even took a book with the Old MacDonald song home to sing with our family.
We are having so much fun and learning lots too!

We will be supporting the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal on Friday 11th March. Children are invited to come to nursery wearing Blue or Yellow clothing. Donations welcome.
The UK Government will match donations from the public pound-for-pound up to £20 million, meaning your support will go even further.

Early reading ignites creativity, sparks curiosity, and stimulates the imagination in young children. Often, this leads to role-play as children grow which helps to develop other skills such as empathy, problem-solving, and morality.
We have had such a fun filled day sharing our favourite stories in our pyjama’s!
Our story of the week is ‘Guess How Much I Love You’
