This week we are focusing on our bodies, we have a hospital set up in nursery. The children are taking part in activities linked to being healthy.
We have had a very busy time outside over the past few weeks; we were amazed at the frozen coloured gloves we made, it took a full week before they froze!
We have been making lots of delicious meals in our camp and invited our friends to come and taste these lovely meals. We even played ‘Floor is Lava’ we used the blocks to build a HUGE bridge. We had to work together to build, balance and travel across the blocks.
We made binoculars and searched the garden for birds. We counted the birds and wrote numbers for each one we found.
What great fun we have had exploring the clay, using the wooden hammers and tools to create lots of different patterns.
The children in Blue group have been very busy since returning to nursery.
We have been exploring everything about winter! We have enjoyed exploring the ice in the water tray, learning a new song about Five snowmen and reading ‘That’s not my Snowman’ story.
We have been mixing paint, making puddles outside and even managed to make a little snowman when it snowed!
It is lovely to see the children in Blue group beginning to make friendships and joining in each other’s play.
Happy New Year!
It’s great to be back with all of our old friends and some new friends.
We’ve jumped straight back into learning with lots of fun activities. We have been thinking lots about how to look after ourselves in the cold and frosty weather and been practising fastening our coats independently. Lots of the children have learnt how to help their friends who find it a little difficult.
In the garden children have been looking after the wildlife by making special treat bird feeders.
Purple and green group have been using numerals in their play. We have ordered numbers, played bingo and learnt how to play Hop Scotch. We have enjoyed reading and doing activities linked to the Gingerbread Man
Red group have been exploring all the different areas of the nursery they can play. They have been finding out how to mix their own paint by following the instructions, using the different loose parts to make their own patterns and making new friends through singing ‘Who’s in the middle?’ with the jabadao.
We had a very busy December!
Look at all the lovely things we did…..
On Friday 19th November we supported Children in Need. We came to nursery in our pyjama’s, spots and sparkles. There was lots of Pudsey activities in nursery. What a fun filled day! We raised £104.33!
The children have been taking part in “World Nursery Rhyme Week” We have been looking at our favourite Nursery rhymes and voting on the best one.
We drew round each other and then labelled our heads, shoulders, knees and toes as well as eyes, ears, mouth and nose!
We made jelly and celebrated our puppet Craig’s birthday singing Jelly on a plate and Happy birthday.
The children explored the nursery garden looking for their favourite characters in a nursery rhyme hunt.
We wonder what Nursery rhymes you like singing at home?
One Kind Word
Kindness is more important today than it has ever been. The isolation of the last year has underlined how little acts of consideration can break down barriers and brighten the lives of the people around us. This is one of the reasons, that ‘One Kind Word’ has been chosen as the theme of Anti-Bullying Week taking place from 15 to 19 of November 2021.
